Frequently asked questions

Does the certificate count nationally, or just in this state?

Nationally — CBD College holds RTO registration (91399), so the statement of attainment you're issued on completion is recognised by employers and licensing bodies right across Australia, not just in the state you trained in.

Where do I get a USI, and why does it matter?

You'll need a Unique Student Identifier before we can issue your certificate — it's a legal requirement for any nationally recognised training, not something we add on top. Create one free in a couple of minutes at usi.gov.au if you don't already have one.

What's the booking process?

Pick your course, then your nearest centre, then a date from the live class finder above — enrol and pay online and you're confirmed instantly, no waiting on a callback.

Can you run a session just for our staff?

Yes — group and onsite training is available for workplaces booking multiple people at once. Call 1300 628 299 and we'll set it up.

CPR, Provide First Aid or Childcare First Aid — which one?

It comes down to what your workplace (or licensing body) asks for. HLTAID009 is CPR only — quick, and the one most people renew yearly. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the broader workplace certificate that most employers specify, and it already includes the CPR unit. HLTAID012 Childcare First Aid is that same certificate plus content specific to infants and young children, required for anyone working in an education or care setting.

How often does each certificate need renewing?

CPR (HLTAID009) is generally a 12-month renewal, while Provide First Aid and Childcare First Aid are usually good for 3 years — but the final word is whatever your employer, industry body or licensing requirement specifies, so check before you assume.

What happens before the in-person class?

You'll get a link to a short online module to work through in your own time — it's designed to take the theory off the clock so the face-to-face session is almost entirely hands-on practice.

Can I get a better price matched?

If another RTO is publicly advertising the identical unit of competency for less, submit their price on our price match page — we'll review it and, where we can match it, email you a discount code to use when you book.
