Childcare First Aid training in Brisbane

Brisbane balances the theory component with extended hands-on practice time, which Nick leads — students find the online pre-learning module well structured going in, so class time is spent almost entirely on skills. Rated 4.7★.

What students say about our Brisbane centre

I've attended CBD College several times over the years and have always had a great experience. Today I completed my First Aid course with Nick whose wealth of knowledge made the class both engaging and informative. There was a great balance of theory and practical activities which made learning enjoyable and easy to follow.

I did CPR/first aid training with CBD College and would recommend them to others. The sign-up process was straightforward and I found the online learning section well-structured. My trainer for the in-person session was Nick, who was encouraging and friendly. I thought the price was pretty reasonable too.

Childcare First Aid in Brisbane — FAQ

Where is Childcare First Aid training held in Brisbane?

At our Brisbane centre: Suite 14, Level 4, 180 Queen Street, Brisbane QLD 4000. All classes are face-to-face.

How much is Childcare First Aid in Brisbane?

Childcare First Aid from $115. See the live dates above for exact pricing and to book online.

How do I get to the Brisbane centre?

The practical assessment is completed on the day, so allow the full session length rather than planning to leave early. Queen Street Mall and Central Station are both close by, with paid parking around the CBD.

Does this certificate work outside the state I train in?

Yes — as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91399), the statement of attainment is recognised anywhere in Australia. You'll need a USI before it can be issued, which takes a couple of minutes to set up free at usi.gov.au if you don't have one already.

Is this different from the standard first aid certificate?

It's built on top of it. HLTAID012 includes everything in HLTAID009/010/011 plus content specific to infants and young children — anaphylaxis, asthma, febrile convulsions and the emergencies more common in care settings — which is what ACECQA's National Quality Framework specifically requires for education and care staff.

What scenarios does the child-specific content cover?

Beyond standard CPR and first aid, expect practical work on managing anaphylaxis and asthma episodes in children, recognising febrile convulsions, and responding to the kinds of incidents that come up in early childhood settings specifically.

How often does an educator need to renew this?

As a general pattern, the first aid component is renewed roughly every 3 years and CPR every 12 months — but always check your specific service's policy and ACECQA's current requirements rather than assuming.

Is there pre-course work before the face-to-face day?

Yes — a short online module first, so class time goes almost entirely to hands-on practice rather than theory.

Can you match a competitor's advertised price?

If you find the same unit of competency advertised cheaper by another RTO, submit it through our price match page and we'll do our best to match it with a discount code for booking.
