Childcare First Aid training in Sydney

The Sydney centre runs all three courses — CPR, Provide First Aid and Childcare First Aid — most weekdays and several times on weekends, so a renewal date is rarely more than a few days away. Paul takes most of the practical sessions here and is known for slowing down on the parts students find hardest: chest compression depth and rate, and recognising when to call an ambulance versus manage on-site. It's our highest-volume centre, rated 4.9★ from just under 5,000 students.

What students say about our Sydney centre

I completed First Aid and CPR with Paul. It was very useful to do the online modules first as we arrived at the course quite well-informed and ready to concentrate on the hands-on lessons. Paul was patient and explained things well. All the classmates were friendly which made the morning enjoyable. :)

Have been coming here for years, never have been disappointed. Teachers are experienced and knowledgeable, well informed and prepared. Clear and well designed pre-learning online system helps to complete the course within a short period of time. Practical exams are well planned so the results can be received almost instantly. Reliable Institute. Thank you.

Childcare First Aid in Sydney — FAQ

Where is Childcare First Aid training held in Sydney?

At our Sydney centre: Level 5, 8 Quay Street (Prince Centre), Haymarket NSW 2000. All classes are face-to-face.

How much is Childcare First Aid in Sydney?

Childcare First Aid from $115. See the live dates above for exact pricing and to book online.

How do I get to the Sydney centre?

Sign in at reception 10 minutes before your session starts — the Prince Centre training room is set up with a manikin for every student, so there's no waiting around to practise. Trains into Central or Town Hall get you here fastest; parking nearby is metered.

Does this certificate work outside the state I train in?

Yes — as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91399), the statement of attainment is recognised anywhere in Australia. You'll need a USI before it can be issued, which takes a couple of minutes to set up free at usi.gov.au if you don't have one already.

Is this different from the standard first aid certificate?

It's built on top of it. HLTAID012 includes everything in HLTAID009/010/011 plus content specific to infants and young children — anaphylaxis, asthma, febrile convulsions and the emergencies more common in care settings — which is what ACECQA's National Quality Framework specifically requires for education and care staff.

What scenarios does the child-specific content cover?

Beyond standard CPR and first aid, expect practical work on managing anaphylaxis and asthma episodes in children, recognising febrile convulsions, and responding to the kinds of incidents that come up in early childhood settings specifically.

How often does an educator need to renew this?

As a general pattern, the first aid component is renewed roughly every 3 years and CPR every 12 months — but always check your specific service's policy and ACECQA's current requirements rather than assuming.

Is there pre-course work before the face-to-face day?

Yes — a short online module first, so class time goes almost entirely to hands-on practice rather than theory.

Can you match a competitor's advertised price?

If you find the same unit of competency advertised cheaper by another RTO, submit it through our price match page and we'll do our best to match it with a discount code for booking.
